Upbeat Nails | Nail Art Blog

Hello Everyone!!! How are you all?
If you follow me in IG you know I went for a little vacations  week before that's why I haven't posted much. I had so much fun since I had best company of my sisters.  I will talk more about the vacation but first let me share a quick nail art.
In my city, we have month Shrawan, where female tend to wear green and yellow colors and mehendi/henna on their hands through out the month. I am not going to go on details why but if you are interested you can read here. Since Paisley print is very famous on henna design I decided to stamp the pattern on nails. I am using BPS-22 stamping plate.
So what do you think? First I wanted to do green and yellow gradient as my base but then I saw this nude polish from Huda Beauty on my collection and decided to go with this instead . The overall design is very elegant to me. I am not much in Paisly print to begin with, that's why the stamping plate wasn't used and still had blue protective firm but the final outcome looks pretty amazing.

I am going to share few snaps from my vacation below. We went to Pokhara. Its our very own heaven on Earth. Its perfect escape from city hustle and bustle. Its takes around 7 hours from vehicle. The place is peaceful and filled with greenery. Something that I  miss living in city. It was three day trip and I enjoyed the hell out of it.We saw Davis fall, went inside two caves, did a little boating and  enjoyed the Peace most.

This is the second time I visited Pokhara. Next time I might try paragliding since its on my bucket list but I am very terrified of heights. The irony!!! Let see what happens!

Hello Everyone.Happy weekend.
Today I am gonna share my take on stone marble nails. This nails are so on trend lately. They are chic and elegant. Although it looks simple and easy to make, I found it diifficult to get the right technique at first try.
Below is my fourth attempt. These took 1 hour to get anything vaguely resembling to stone marble, and I'm still not entirely convinced. But it look pretty good so I decided to share them.
So what do you think? Please let me know on the comment below.  Thank you for visiting. I will see you soon.

Hello Everyone!!!
Today I am gonna share a simple glitter manicure that I did on my sister's nails for her college event. (PS I am creating all my manicure on her nails for  while.) She wore a beautiful blue and black peplum dress so I added that bling factor through her nails.
So what do you think? Please let me know on the comment below.  Thank you for visiting. I will see you soon.

Hello Everyone!!!
Apologies I haven't been post much but I've been busy. I seriously need to to spare some time for posting more. Hopefully I will have some freehand design soon. Anyway back to today's post I have review a product review from Born Pretty Store. The product is Cute Deer stamping plate BP-192 item no #41081.
The Stamping plate came with its own card sleeves for easy storage and standard blue protective film which must be removed prior to use.The plate has 3 full  nail images and  6 individual images which can be used to create in accent nail. I didn't had any problem picking up the pattern. The pattern transferred neatly in stamper at first try. I used both stamping and normal polish and both worked very well. So that means the plates are deeply etched.
I love this stamping plate. Its so cute and perfect for Christmas .So what do you think  let me know on the comment below.

Hello Everyone !!!
I got three Born Pretty Store chameleon stamping nail polishes for review. I have tried Chameleon  polishes from BPS, so I was really curious how they perform in stamping. And I am happy to say they were a pleasant surprise.
Born Pretty Store recently launched this beauty. There are three colors to choose from. There is no specific name but simple number 1,2,3 (left to right) written on the bottom of the bottle. The bottle contains 6ml of polishes. The brush is small but still comfortable to work with.

This shifts from green to yellow/gold

This shifts from Gold to brown/pink
I tried all three colors. You are seeing #2 on nails. I tried two other colors on false nails below. I had tad bit difficult to capture the color shift. #2 is stunning and shifts from dark green/ light lime green/dark blue. The stamping polish works perfectly. I had no problem with picking up the pattern on stamper. It instantly created  gradient effect. The quality is perfect.

Hello Everyone !!!
I haven't been posting much lately as I am not feeling well. I am having problem with my knee so I am not allowed to bend it which makes it impossible to use my desktop. And it pains to keep laptop on my lap for long hours. Nothing serious I just cramped some muscle on the knee. I am doing some exercise to heal them.
So back to today's post, I am gonna review of something I was very exited to try. That is 2Pcs/setShinning Mirror Nail Glitter Powder & 5ml Top Coat Nail Art Chrome Pigment Glitters and I'll be showing you the silver powder. You have a option for Gold powder to.

The Glitter came in a zipper bag along with a  applicator and 5ml soak off Gel Polish. The top coat has very unusual smell- something like burnt rubber. The powder comes in a little pot and holds roughly 1 gram of powder. As I dont use gel polishes I was hesitant on how it will work. But I am glad I try these product because the end result in amazing.
 http://upbeatnails.blogspot.com/p/isclosure.html
For this mirror nails I started off with latex around my nails for easy clean up then applied  black base and “Gel  Like Top Coat” from a brand called  “Selfie”. I dont know if there is any difference between regular top coat and gel like top coat but I have been using this selfie top coat for months now. It doesn't need to cure or anything. Once the top coat was almost dry, I used the applicator to gently rub it across my nails and repeated the step when necessary.
As I didn't use the Soak off polish that was sent with package I highly doubt that I achieve the full mirror effect. Nonetheless I am very satisfied and happy how it worked in regular top coat. I did some experiment on my nails wheels with just black polish, regular top coat and the send soak off polish. With the Black polish and regular top coat the the mirror effect is very minimum. The end result was like simple silver metal polish. Well and the Soak off polish doesn't seems to dry with out cure so it was big fail.
Anyway my last thought - I love the process and the end result just blew my mind. The pictures doesn't even do justice on how it looked in real. They have shiny mirror effect and are so eye-catching on  nails. As I didn't use the specific top coat the effect started to fade in two days. It started to get dull but I am in love with the mirror glitter.
So what do you think. Have you tried this silver mirror powder? Let me know on the comment below.  If you interested in these mirror powder you can buy here for just $3.99. You can  use my discount code ASXW10 to get 10% off your entire order.

Hello Everyone!!!
Continuing with my BPS review, today I am gonna share my views on two different types of flakies.
 http://upbeatnails.blogspot.com/p/isclosure.html
The first product is Silver flakies (#39745). It came on plastic zipper bag along with a eye shadow kind of brush. The  flakies come in a small jar containing 0.2 grams. The BPS website recommends to use it on Gel polish but I tried it on regular polishes. The silver flakies is easy to use. First I applied  a black polish and while its was still wet I placed the flakies using the applicator. The flakies gave very mirror /metallic effect.
I love these silver flakies. Its beautiful and elegant. At first I was somewhat hesitant since most of these types of products are for use with gel polishes, and I don’t do gel yet. But I had no trouble using this product with my regular polishes.

Second product is Chameleon Flakies (#39996). I have used similar product before. You can see it here. These flakies is cut into ultrafine stripe than that I used before. Like above product it came in zipper bag with the applicator. The jar contains 2g and the flakies is  size is appox. 0.1*0.8mm. The flakies are  iridescent clear but when layered over a dark color, they take on a red-orange-gold-green-shift. Again BPS website suggest it to use on UV Gel Polish. But I decided to try it with regular ones.

The color shift is beautiful. Again I simply applied the flakies with the applicator while the black polish was still wet.I love everything about this flakies. The images doesn't justify how beautiful it looked in real life.
So what do you think? If you like the look of flakies but haven't tried yet, I highly recommend them. If you interested in these flakies you can buy here and here for just $1.99 and $0.99 respectively or any other nail products you can buy them from Born Pretty Store  and you can  use my discount code ASXW10 to get 10% off your entire order.
