Upbeat Nails | Nail Art Blog

Hello Everyone!!!
Today my little sister (kiddo) turned 18. So to celebrate it I made a birthday nail art on her nails. I started with white base. Than using the stamping plate Q Girl 020 I reversed Stamped the cake and balloon pattern. And hand painted rest of the design with acrylic paint. So that's it for today. I will see you soon.

Hello Everyone!!!
Continuing with ABC Challenge, today is the day for "M". To keep with a theme I decided to do Monochrome manicure. I began by painting my nails with a White base  polish. Then I did side french manicure from black polish. Once it was dried, I stamped some random square pattern using BPX06. So thats it for today. I will see you soon. Let me know what you think about this manicure. Comment below :)

Hello Everyone!!!
Today I am gonna share a Mani that I did more than two weeks ago. I did a Mani swap with @Frantic4nails from Instagram. She is very lovely and talented. I did her line nail with blue to silver gradient while she did my Dice nails. There isn't much to say about the gradient. After I sponged the gradient I drew those lines with acrylic paint. I have never done mani swap before so it was really fun. So that it for today. I will see you soon!!

Hello Everyone!!!
Its Friday which means time for ABC Challenge. Its a week for L meaning we need to make anything that start from Letter L. I had so many option for this theme. It was actually very hard to choose. But after searching for few ideas I settled for Leaves. So my L is for Leaves. Warning : too many images *Grins*
I clicked the images inside and outside the room ergo the differences. Generally I just click them inside my room. I am very satisfied with the final outcome. I am proud actually.
I simply wanted to paint the leaves in white base as usual. But decided to try them with brown base so you know to give a tree feel? But it look boring/ plain. So I fan brushed with darker shade of brown than base. Few swipe from fan brush and the background look much better.
The color used are Caiuro Chocolate 33(base color) and Cairuo Chocolate 35. Then I hand painted the leaves from acrylic paint. Below is the images that I clicked before outlining the leaves. I was afraid I might ruin whole manicure. So just for backup I snaped few pic. But I did manage to create less mess while outlining. I love the matte effect  it has.
I kinda fell in love with this manicure. This is definitely one of those manicure that I would love to paint  all over again. May be I  will  paint some flowers over the leaves next time.
So what do you think? Let me know on the comment below.

Hello Everyone!!!
Today I am gonna share houndstooth nails that I actually made for ABC Challenge. But for some reason  didn't like it back then and settled with Half moon. The manicure was just sitting somewhere in my computer so I just decided to share them and be done with it. I find this pattern very bold and beautiful. There are plenty of tutorial in YouTube. I followed one of them.
Remember I once shared a cute teddy bear bottle nail polish? I used it as a base coat. (its really annoying to have a nameless polish) Once the base coat is completely dry, with a  brush, I created the Houndstooth shape pattern using  acrylic paint. Now as I look at it. Its not that bad. What do you think? Let me know on the comment below.

Hello Everyone!!!
It's time for another ABC Challenge post which brings us to the letter 'K'. I exactly knew what I wanted to make for this theme from the beginning. K is for Kitten always *wink*. I searched Google for easiest kitten images to take inspiration which I found in no less than a minute. You can see my inspirational image here.Of course I couldn't paint all those cuties on nails. I just did two of them. Lets jump into pics and show you what I did.
The Base is Caiuro White "Milk" and rest of the design are hand painted from acrylic paint. I found the "ring finger kitten" adorable. The other one looks more like puppy than kitten. I don't know *shrugs*.  Maybe I should have painted the kitten eyes either green or yellow because blue didn't pop up much. But anyway I love how the finish product looks. So what do you think? Let me know on the comment below.

Hello Everyone!!!
I am super exited to review a product from Born Pretty Store today. Its a Clear Marshmallow Silicone Jelly Stamper with Cap & Scraper which is listed under the code ID= 26498 and is available for $3.59. You can  use my discount code ASXW10 to get 10% off.
When I first received the product it came damaged - the corner of the stamper was chipped (a small part missing) I contacted lovely Cynthia and she send me a new one which I received in less than two weeks. Talk about good customer service . Isn't that great?

http://upbeatnails.blogspot.com/p/isclosure.html
The Product came wrapped inside white thermocol. When I opened it, stamper was safe inside plastic seal. The head of this stamper is removable and made of a clear jelly silicone. It comes in this Clear holder with cap and with its own  BPS scraper. The stamper is somewhere between not too squishy and not to firm. When you pressed the stamper on your nails, the nails kind of disappear on it. It is of course a clear jelly stamper. Its about 42mm in diameter which is more than enough to cover your nails wonderfully.
Remember that time when we all struggle to achieve that perfect stamping. Well with this Stamper it is very easy and handy. The advantage of these stampers is that the back-end of the stamper is open and it allows you to see down through the holder so  you can easily position the stamp onto your nail in the exact position you want.
I used BP XO6 Stamping plate. The image picked up perfectly on the first go. I didn't had any problem. Both roll over motion and press straight down technique worked for me. The images printed brilliant in both ways.I used a normal polish not a stamping polish which just work fine for me.
Even when I had such a handy product I couldn't create perfect stamping. When everything was going so well,  my top coat decided to ruin the manicure by smearing it.
Verdict : I love this jelly stamper. Its a life saver. Must have product if you are addicted to stamping. Since its clear it is easy to place images where I want them to be. No priming of the stamper is needed. The only down side is that the stamper head falls into the stamper if a lot of pressure is used.
So what do you think of the stamper. Have you tried it before?
If you feel like trying your hand at these Stamper, you can buy them from Born Pretty Store  and you can  use my discount code ASXW10 to get 10% off your entire order.
You can find them on all of the usual social media outlets too, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

Hello Everyone!!!
Its Friday already and time to post a new theme for ABC Challenge. And today is day for "J". As  my little sister has exam again *sigh* she is busy. So I had no choice beside painting my own nails (remember I am avoiding painting my nails as long as I can to give my nails time to heal from the Fungal Infection that I recently suffered) I had planned a jellyfish nails for the J theme which of course didn't turned out like I planned. So I had to make  last minute change of theme. Instead of Jelly fish I present you J for Japan. I did a quick Google search for J theme because I am clearly  lacking creative thinking lately. I am blaming it to Euro Cup. All that  waking up at night to watch football thing  is making me sleepy all the time. *Yawns*
The Base is Caiuro White "Milk" and rest of the design are painted from acrylic paint. Cherry Blossom in my index, Torri Gate in the middle, My Name in Japanese language in accent and finally Flag in my pinky. I am not happy with the Cherry blossom but like I said it was last minute manicure so this has to do. Hope you like it. let me know on the comment below.

Hello Everyone!!! How is your weekend so far?
I have another BPS review for you today! I decided to try their Lace Nail Sticker. When I first saw these nail sticker in Born Pretty Store site, I just had to get them. They looked so gorgeous. This Product is listed under code ID=27535  and is available for $2.50. You can  use my discount code ASXW10 to get 10%off.
http://upbeatnails.blogspot.com/p/isclosure.html
This product comes in a one-roll package. They are available in 27 different pattern so there is lots of choices to choose from.  I chose JQ105. All the sticker are equally stunning  and feminine. The pattern are beautifully detailed.
When I decided to try this Lace Sticker, it had me confused for  more than 10 min. I was really trying hard to figure out how this product can be a sticker? I checked thoroughly to see if  it is double layers to peel off the design but  it wasn't. I clearly remembered the product was nail sticker, still confused I checked the BPS website. It  named this product as Lace Nail sticker and clearly written on their instruction to "peel off" the design by your nail. They even mentioned not to touch the glue. There was nothing to peel off, no glue either. It had me confused and annoyed.
Then I remember I have used similar product like this  before the holographic foils. I used the same technique that I did for those foils and eureka it worked.
I will write the How To's because BPS website clearly had it wrong. They should change their instruction in their website as it would be really confusing to those who are using this kind of product for first time.
First apply the base color  in your nails. Wait it dry but not totally dry. Press the sticker, onto the nail and rub over using your finger. Remove the sticker and the pattern should transfer on your nail.Apply the top coat to seal the design.
But it  is easier said than done. It’s actually a lot harder to get the right nail polish consistency for this sticker to transfer.Wait a little bit too long and the sticker won’t transfer, don’t wait long enough and the sticker pulls the polish with it. I had the misfortune of dealing with both situations and I can say from experience that they are equally annoying.
However after many frustrating attempt I finally managed to transfer the sticker which at least look presentable.

The base color is  Cairuo chocolate 33.Then I transfer the sticker on middle and accent nails and used some rectangle gold stud for rest of the nails.
Overall I didn't had good experience with this sticker. First it really annoyed me with the fact that its not Sticker as claimed rather its like a foil. If I knew beforehand I wouldn't have chose to review this product. Even after when I finally managed to use this product it didn't transfer well.
Besides the annoying part I still find this Sticker gorgeous. If you can consistently get these sticker to transfer to your nails then this could be really a elegant product. If you feel like trying your hand at these sticker, you can buy them from Born Pretty Store  and you can  use my discount code ASXW10 to get 10% off your entire order.
You can find them on all of the usual social media outlets too, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
