Upbeat Nails | Nail Art Blog

Hello Everyone!!! Happy Hump Day!!!
I have a very exciting nail art to share with you today. You must have played the very crazed game Pokemon Go or saw someone playing it. I was no exceptional. I started to play the game soon  after it was launched but I have just reached level 2 (Yeah I couldn't catch too many Pokemon because the server stayed down most of the time) when the game got banned  *sad face*. Hopefully it will relaunch soon. Anyway the game seems to take over everything at that moment. I saw tons of cute Pokemon nails on my Instagram and every other social media.  So of course I had to jump on this crazy trend and create my own Pokemon Go nails (sort of).
I already had plans on what I wanted to do for this manicure. Actually I found a very cute/funny  Pokemon wallpaper on Pinterest a long way back which you can see here. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to make it. But with the challenge I was participating in and few reviews, it just stayed as idea. But I am so glad I finally could paint it on the nails.
I took inspiration from the image I found. Its cute and funny. When I was kid and watched the Pokemon,  I actually thought how a Pikachu or any other Pokemon can fit in that small ball (just random kid's thoughts) So the wallpaper was a great idea for this manicure.
For this manicure I started with White base. Than I build up gradient from acrylic paint. I then free handed  Pikachu, text and Pokemon balls. It took a lot of time to create this manicure because I was trying so hard to fit all that text in one nails. Well all the time spend was worth it. I am really happy and satisfied with the final outcome. It turned out exactly how I had imaged.
So what do you think? Do you like today's manicure? Let me know on the comment below.

Hello Everyone!!!
I have yet another review from Born Pretty Store. Today I am gonna show you a very fun Animal Pattern plate and Gray Stamping Polish. The polish was supposed to arrive 3 months back but because of the custom it got delayed. Some time my country wont allow liquid shipping. But anyway I am glad it did arrive even though it took some time.
The BP- X13 plate is listed under ID code: 29986 and is available for $1.99 and the Polish #30 is listed under the ID: 27005 and is available for $4.99
http://upbeatnails.blogspot.com/p/isclosure.html
The Stamping plate came with its own card sleeves for easy storage and standard blue protective film which must be removed prior to use.The plate has six full  nail images which measures 1.8cm x 1.8cm. The size could be a little small if you have long nails. There are 4 individual images which can be used to create in accent nail. The full images consist of 5 different animal print plus a skull pattern and 4 individual images consist of 3 animal print (all tigers) and a sugar skull. Now if you know me, I am a sucker for skull and the sole reason I chose this plate is for those skulls.
I didn't had any problem picking up the pattern. The pattern transferred neatly in stamper at first try. I used both stamping and normal polish and both worked very well. So that means the plates are deeply etched.
The Gray stamping polish came with its own card board box for storage which I found very adorable. I have never used stamping polishes before so I really don't have any prior knowledge. But its thicker than normal polish and dries really quick. I tried this polish in several stamping plate and the result were all good.
I used this gray polish for stamping and you can see the pattern are very neatly transferred on the stamper.
http://upbeatnails.blogspot.com/p/isclosure.html
For the manicure I started off with a blue base. Than I reverse stamped the sugar skull and stamped the skull pattern on middle finger. For rest of the finger I used dry brush technique using several polishes. I wanted to give it a grunge effect. The polishes that I used doesn't have any specific name but its from a company name Bloom. And its made in my own country. So what do you think? Let me know on the comment below.

Hello Everyone!!!
Its Friday which means time for ABC Challenge. Its been Seventeen week of fun so far. Today the Challenge  is for Letter Q. Since 31DC starts from September for a whole month we will be skipping ABC Challenge  so that the other lovely ladies can participate on 31DC without much stress. So I will be posting on October 7th with Letter R. I wont be taking part in 31DC. I am still refraining from painting my nails and my little sister's (kiddo) class will start soon and she will get busy too. But I will still try to post twice a week.
Back to today's post, The letter Q itself sounds like challenge. I just know few words from Q. I wanted to do a quilted accent mani. But it didn't turn out well. Either the polish was too wet to create the dent effect or was too dry. So after much trying I decided to create Quill instead.
I made the design on rest of the nails planning quilted manicure but as it didn't work out, I still thought it looks good with quill. So I kept them that way. As usual the design are hand painted from acrylic paint. I hope you like today's manicure. Let me know on the comment below. I will see you next week.

Hello Everyone!!!
I have yet another Born Pretty Store Stamping plate review for today. I have two more plates to show you. so stay tuned and you can see my previous review here , here and here.
Today I will show you a fun and delicious looking stamping plate. BPS has so many Stamping plate to choose from. I chose this plate pure out of curiosity. I haven't seen much of fruit pattern plates. So this definitely got my attention. The plate is listed under the ID No 29977 and is available for $1.59
http://upbeatnails.blogspot.com/p/isclosure.html
As usual the plates came up with its own cardboard sleeves and  standard blue protective film which must be removed prior to use. The plate is named Fruit  Pattern. So obviously it has lots of different Fruits pattern. There is Strawberry,Apples, Cherry, Oranges.Pineapple Banana and more. The plate has six full  nail images which measures 1.8cm x 1.8cm and there are 8 individual fruit images which can be used to create in accent nail.
I had difficult time picking up the pattern on my stamper from this plate. I used the same technique that I used for all the stamping I have done before. I tried with black regular polish  and as you can see the pattern fully arent transferred. Then I  used stamping polish and the result is still the same (Grey Polish- above). I tried several pattern and  had hard time picking up few of the pattern (mostly strawberry) I have used several BPS Stamping Plate and never had this problem before. I don't know if I should say that the plate isn't etched well because the big pattern transferred good enough, just the tiny ones like strawberry seeds or in this pattern the small circles. Or may be because the pattern lines are so thin my beginner  skill didn't work.
I can see so many potential design from this plate but sadly I am a little disappointed.
http://upbeatnails.blogspot.com/p/isclosure.html
At first I had planned to reverse stamp the strawberry pattern but it didn't work. For this manicure I started with yellow base. Then sponged tiny bit of orange randomly and stamped the mixed orange and water melon  pattern (ring finger). I hope you like it. Let me know on the comment below.
Do you have problem picking up such tiny details? Do let me know.

Hello Everyone!!!
Continuing with Born Pretty Store Stamping Plate Review, today I will show you a plate filled with very beautiful peacock  pattern. There is something written in Japanese language instead where the BP sign used to be. I was bit curious so I translated it and found out it meant Song Of Spring. That's pretty cool name for the plate. The plate is listed under ID No 29541 and is available for just for $1.99
http://upbeatnails.blogspot.com/p/isclosure.html
The stamping plate came with the standard blue protective film which must be removed prior to use.It had its own cardboard sleeves for storage. Its 5.5cm in diameter. The plate is mostly filled with Peacock pattern and a beautiful rose flower below it. I loved this plate at first sight.
The stamping plate is engraved deeply enough to get perfect patterns and transfer them on nails. The patterns are well carved  and with the wider patterns stamping is very easy, but with the thinner lines you may have to be a little bit careful, especially if you are a beginner as I.  I did have  little problem working with it at first but once I got hold of it, they are manageable.
If you want to try these beautiful peacock stamping plate or any other nail products you can buy them from Born Pretty Store  and you can  use my discount code ASXW10 to get 10% off your entire order.

Hello Everyone!!!
Today I have a review for you on Checked Stamping plates from Born Pretty Store. The Stamping plate is listed under the ID No 30341 and is available for $2.99
http://upbeatnails.blogspot.com/p/isclosure.html
As always the stamping plate came with the standard blue protective film which must be removed prior to use.It had its own cardboard sleeves for storage. The plates come with a plastic backing to avoid sharp edge.
They measure 12*6cm in size. As you can see, the plate have a large variety of image sizes and design . Besides the gorgeous Checked designs, what I  love most about these plates is  the way they seem to utilize as much of the plate surface as possible. There are 10 full pattern and many other tiny pattern covering the whole plate.
This plate is of brilliant quality, the images transferred super clean and stamped without any issues.  $2.99 USD for a high-quality plate with this many large images is a of course a great deal.
This is the manicure that I made using this stamping plate. Its was hard to choose just one image, so I used two instead. I actually wanted to do double stamping, that was reason why I chose those plaid lines pattern but it didn't turn out like I planned.
If you are interested in this Checked Stamping Plate you can buy it from here  and you can  use my discount code ASXW10 to get 10% off your entire order.
You can find them on all of the usual social media outlets too, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

Hello Everyone!!!
Time to post for new theme of ABC Challenge. This week its "O" which means we need to make anything started with the letter O. At first I wanted to have either Owl or Octopus design but the same day my (big) sister brought Harry Potter And The Cursed Child Book (YAY!!!!) Then I suddenly had the burning desire to make a manicure with Harry Potter theme. Thankfully the cover of the book has Orange background. So to keep up with the theme I present you O is for Orange Background. (Who am I kidding? its Harry Potter And Cursed Child nail art, Inspired by book. I didn't wanted to miss the ABC Post so  I am forcefully making everyone believe it's Orange gradient nail art. ).
As usual I stated with white base. Once it dried I started to build the gradient to match the book cover which is a mixture of white, light yellow and mostly of  "Orange". Once I was satisfied with the gradient I created a nest with a wing similar to cover of the book. (I don't know if it has any significant meaning because I just reached page 112 of the book and its very interesting keeping the fact that its just a script for  play.) Then I wrote Harry Potter And The Cursed Child on index and middle finger. As usual everything is hand painted from acrylic paint, even the gradient.
So what do you think?? Do you like my Orange Themed Harry Potter And The Cursed Child inspired nail art? Are you going to read the book? Or you already did? Have you watched the play?

Hello Everyone!!!
I am a day late for ABC Challenge post. Usually I post it on Friday but I had electricity problem again. Well anyways, today its gonna be a review as well as manicure for the challenge. When lovely Cynthia asked me to try some of the BPS product I was amazed with the range of their stamping plate. So I have tons of Stamping plate to review for you.Stay tuned!!
I have a very beautiful Stamping to show you today. This Plate is listed under the ID No 30338 and is available for $2.99
http://upbeatnails.blogspot.com/p/isclosure.html
This plate is beauty itself. Its a rectangle which is new to me, it came with a cardboard sleeves which makes it easier for  storage. The Plate has a big butterfly pattern. Along with the butterflies, you will find a flower , ladybug and grasses pattern as well. Its approx 12.6*cm. The butterfly wings has such detailed netted pattern which I loved at first sight. What I love about this stamping plate is that it has a big plastic material around it giving it a white border. I love this feature because it minimizes the damage.
I didn't had any problem with picking up the design on my stamper. I used a regular nail polish  and  was able to get  good results from the plate. The plate is very deeply etched which means  picking up the pattern was very easy.
If you are interested in these Butterfly Stamping Plate or any other nail products you can buy them from Born Pretty Store  and you can  use my discount code ASXW10 to get 10% off your entire order.

ABC Challenge: N is for Negative Space
As for the challenge I decide to do N for Negative Space. I stamped this netted pattern from above plate on the nails. I had a hard time taking the images as the weather is sad and gloomy here and my camera just wouldn't agree to focus properly.
So what do you think? Let me know on the comment below.
